Im currently running a bully dog tuner its been on my truck for several years. It works i guess but i think that old itch is coming that makes a guy want a little more. Is the DP tuner any better as far as more power faster take offs or should i just leave it as it is. Truck is 2002 7.3 260k miles on it and it just got new injector cups and injector orings. The injectors are stock. Ive included a pic with all current mods.
While DP has somewhat fallen out of favor here. The PHP Hydra with Gearhead tunes is the favorite the last couple of years, I run the DP F6. I think between the 2 (Bully Dog and DP) you will like Jody's tunes much better.
oddly I am in the same boat so to say, while im happy with my 7.3 as it is I want to get more, and was looking at the PHP Hydra...I also like its open source like capabilities...
I should've headed the thread a little different. I've been outta the mod scene for a few years so i really dont know what the latest and greatest is. I do know this bully dog aint it anymore lol.
Well, you may have painted yourself into a corner with the limitations of the two choices. If the limitations remain, save money by staying with what you have.
If you plan to continue with systematic logical modifications and only want to pay for tuning once, then the Hydra with tunes by Matt @ Gearhead is the "only" choice due to the fact that, after the initial purchase, all updates are free no matter how often or how many times you modify your truck.
Additionally, if funds are tight, you can buy the Hydra and flash free tunes from PowerHungryPerformance (PHP)'s extensive library.
I really dont know what alls out there i just saw where dp tuner was sponser here and done some google searches about dp and bully dog. Now that i know about this php i think thats something i would rather go with something that will grow with future mods. Ill give them a holler let em know what i got and see what they can do for this old grocery getter.
I have a 2000 model f350 that my 4x4 will not do anything when I flip the switch. The light does work, comes on briefly when I start the engine. I've even jumped the relays to see if I get any activity and still nothing. Can sombody please help me trouble shoot this issue?
I have no idea you might want to make a new thread so everybody will see it i know somebody here will help you theres alot of knowledgeable people here. The only problem i ever had with my electric 4x4 was the vaccuum hose came off where it seals in on the hub or thats what im calling it i hooked a hose back up and my 4 wheel drive starting working again. It was on the front axle dunno if this will help.
Thank you much I will try and figure out how to create a thread since I am new to this. The vacuum isn't my problem and wish it was that easy of a fix for me, again thank you
On this page that shows all the threads just click that circle that says new thread. Make your title then describe it in the box. These guys will have you goin in no time.
To the OP... I am sure you will like our custom tunes much better than the generic Bully Dog tunes. That being said, what Bully Dog tuner do you have? If it is the GT, we can write custom tunes for it. You will just need to get in touch with Bully Dog and have it updated. This will save you a bit of money and you will still be able to run our custom tunes...

Yeah whats the extreme setting on the bully dog gt thats what i have also. And heres another question that may be a little off topic with all this. I have all these different mods on my truck and running the bully dog in extreme on the interstate or just taking off my bully dog only shows my boost going to 12. Is that normal or low or odd i dunno just seems low to me.
I have a pillar gauge for boost so i have never looked to see what the BD indicated. not even sure what sensor feeds boost to the computer or if it even does. LMAO
I have the GT and am curious what your 100hp program does different then the Bullydog "extreme" program ?
I have never personally used the Bully Dog generic tunes, so I have no personal experience with them. But I do get a lot of feedback from our customers who go from running the generic Bully Dog tunes to our custom tunes. They always say there is a drastic difference.
The main differences I hear about most are the power improvement and much better shifting. We focus a lot more on the trans than pretty much any generic tuner out there. Shift points are adjusted, line pressure is adjusted, TQ converter lockup and unlock points are changed, etc.

12psi is low if that is a correct boost reading. You should be able to hit about 18-20psi in a bone stock truck and 26-28psi in a properly tuned stock truck.
