You should be more than happy with DP Tuner. Your best suggestion of tunes will be given by DP after you describe your set-up, goals and daily use of your truck.
That said, Rah rah begins in, 5 - 4 - 3 -2 -1 ........
Getting a DP tuner to run my single shot injectors i am getting. Any problems with the F5 and what tunes do i get? Whats the good ones to get?
Don't know what you're drivin but I got an F6, pull a fifth wheel in the mountains and really like the decel tune as well as my 40 and 60 hp tow tunes. Not pullin, I like my 80 econ.
With the F5 you have to send it back if you want new tunes. The F6 you can get new tunes off your computer witch is quicker then sendin it back and you wont be without it. Other then that there the same.
Currently I have the F6 and have never added or modified tunes, so I haven't seen the benefits yet, the F5 or the F8 is my direction for her truck I think.
I have the F5 and debated on whether I should have gone the F6 route, and here's my take:
If you never plan to get live tuning, go F6.
Even if you plan to get live tuning eventually, but see that as years down the road, go F6.
If you plan on numerous small upgrades.... call DP and ask them.
If you're getting all your mods done in "one fell swoop" and then will get live tuned.... go F5.
If you don't mind the turnaround time or your truck isn't your daily driver, go F5.
I have an F5 with No Start, Stock, 1200rpm High Idle, 40Tow, 60Tow, 60E, 80E, 120R.
I mostly use 80E around town, but will put her in 60E once at speed on the highway (sometimes). I've used 120R a total of 4 times (SHORT burst) in the 4yrs+ that I've owned my truck.
Next time Jody is in town I'm having the No Start moved to the #1 position. This way when I remove my switcher, it will default to that setting. My truck is in the shop right now so I completely removed the chip. That's just me, and not his normal setup, but I think a little weird too...
