Lightning engine swap.

I picked up a 95 lightning engine and trans. Wiring harness was cut and no computer. But got the pair for 300. I have a 93 flareside 5.0 with an e40d. What all has to be done here? What computers can I use? Thanks for any help

Still the same conversation though.. it's nice when the whole story is completely visible in a single thread. Bottom line is you need a Lightning PCM, the wiring harness isn't so important because it's pretty much the same as the one in your truck, maybe a few minor differences right at the engine due to the Lightning(GT40) intake, if that part of the harness you have is intact you're good.

well, if I can't find one right away would a regular 5.8 ecm work ? I know the truck won't run 100% but would it work??

Yes a standard 5.8/E4OD PCM would "run it" but not at 100% potential.

Ford switched from Push-Start ignition to CCD in 1994, there are wiring and computer differences involved in that change. Ford then moved the transmission solenoid protection diodes from the transmission to the computer (PCM) in 1995.

Since the OP has a 1993 MY truck the best bet is a 1993 Lightning PCM. I agree the base programming is pretty much the same but there are other items coming into play here.

1993 and earlier Push-Start Ignition:

1994 and later CCD Ignition:

IMHO your best bet is a 1993 Lightning PCM. You know it was designed to work with the Push-Start ignition system.
