lightning swap

I have a 2005 ford f150 regular cab with a 4.2L v6 engine and I was wondering if it is possible to swap my engine with a ford lightning svt engine? And if so about how much would it cost me.

This is a complete powertrain swap not just the motor and you can add wiring and PCM to that as well, so costs could be very substantial especially if you are doing a checkbook build here.

Yes, your trans will not work with that engine and your rear axle would probably work, but might be marginal.

BTW, is this you with a different ID or is it just 4.2 to Lightning season?

Ohh ok, is that the only thing that will also have to change or is there other parts that will have to change in order to swap the engine? And no that's not me.

As indicated, the PCM and wiring harness. You may have a challenge getting gauges to work. Cooling, exhaust, controls, mounts as well. Probably cross member work, and definitely drive shaft work.
