Core support years.

Hey does anyone know if the core support from a 93 idi diesel is the same as a 97 psd? It looks the same from an untrained eye

I'm almost positive they are the same. I have an IDI sitting out there. I'll look one evening and make sure.

the core supports changed late '94. they are deeper between the frame rails through '97. as the radiator is taller and mounts different. if the truck has a brass radiator and an overflow tank it is the short support. if it has the aluminum radiator with plastic tanks and a degass bottle it is the deeper support.

This was the reason I asked. However will a core support for a 94 psd not work on a 97 psd?

I have a 1993 idi, parted out a 1994 which I have a core support from and I have a 1996 powerstroke. They are the same.

Well I should say they look the same, I'll take some measurements tomorrow but it was always my understanding they are the same. 94.5psds used the open non pressurized coolant tank and idi radiator 95 to 97 used the same core support but pressurized overflow and different radiator.

I still havent gotten a chance, the exhaust manifold job took a little longer than i had planned. It got it all back together and driving now so ill pull it up to my shed and lay out the IDI core and take some measurements of the radiators i have removed and the core height and such
