It's a great STARTER kit. The windshield cowl is a nightmare and doesn't have instructions. I'm not a fan of using rivets to safely secure parts that I don't need wiggling around. The fenders require mounting to the A pillars so that the kit fails to mention, without tapping a hole the fender to mount to, it does move. There was a alot of trial and error, but also some "Wow, that was easy". The kit only mentions the big items needed, it's a little more than a hood, fenders, grille, headlights, bumper and the kit. I've spoken the McNasty and alot of other builders that used his kit and everyone said its a great kit, but it does have flaws. I've learned a lot traveling the country hearing the tips they used, and some of the tips i used and others...WTF. Long story short, would I use it again..Yes!
Mcnasty told me that it wasn't needed and could fab up something. In my thread, you can see that I just cut off the frame horns and rewelded it back lower. I stopped by McNasty's and saw that flimsy metal to hold the bumper, but now I feel safe if I'm ever involved in a head on crash. $200 was a little more than I wanted to pay. I did question myself if I should've gotten it once it came time to install the bumper, but it worked out for the best for me. I agree that he should have a complete parts list, but Votec's parts list was 99.9% correct if you're doing the C style grille. I ordered the plastic screws that go into the chrome grille that I didn't need, but other than that, it was spot on.
I have a bunch of parts that I havent been able to source used yet. The primary one being the lower grill support. No one wants to sell it to me. I've tried dozens of junk yards via phone/email/ebay. That plus some other small crap that Im reticent to pay for new like the hood seal corners and fender-Lower covers, and hood latch and striker.
I think I need to just buy it all new.
Hood and fenders will be primed OEM from dealer. Paint to match my silver truck.
I bought the mcNasty bumper kit as well as the primary kit.

I got the upper and lower grille support from a Ford dealership that had a body shop for free. They had taken it off a f250 that was in a accident and had been slightly damaged, then was replaced new. I asked where it was and went dumpster diving, I had to cut on it anyways. No one will ever see the lower. I did buy all new smaller crap and you should be able to get the 08 striker and hood latch assembly from a junkyard.
Ya man that's what I need to do...go hit up a Ford body shop and dive into the dumpsters for that lower grill support. Its gonna get cut anyway which is why it hurts to pay for it new.

When you get to the point of buying new parts, find out if there's a Ford wholesaler nearby and let them know what you're going to do, and maybe they'll give you a discount. Everything I bought new, I got 10 to 20% off. Call all the nearby dealerships. I got alot from Quirks near Boston, but I was able to sweet talk them face to face, to get the whole seller rates. You can talk trash about Craigslist, but it saved me alot of money.

Did you end up getting the bumper brackets for the conversion also? I'm trying to source the parts and have gotten everything except for the grille support, McNasty brackets and the side emblems.

No. I cut the complete frame horns off and welded it back on to save money, 200 for his bumper kit was a little to high for me. Are you searching junkyards, because that a great place since you will cut on them.
I totally agree and that's why I got everything off of Craigslist or from a Ford wholesaler. I even called Ford dealerships asking if they had a Collision service department and if they had any parts unusable from a F250
