When I first start my diesel I get an engine check light when first started. It goes away after a minute or so in July in Texas. The light does not come again until the next day. Same thing over again. The auto parts store say they can not tell what the light is unless it is on. The problem being is the light goes out before I can get to the parts store. Any ideas?
If the light shows, then a code should be stored, even if the light goes out you can still retrieve it.

You can use AE (Auto Ingenuity) software with the FORD enhanced package or you can buy a ELM Bluetooth device and use an Android phone with Car Gauge Pro.

If you post your location then maybe someone near you will be able to come out and help you get the codes.
