I live up in Washington and we had record cold the past couple of days and one day when i started my truck the little light in the left hand bottom corner of the instrument cluster. I looked it up in the manual and it says that it's the check engine light and that i should check the OBD-II under maintenance and specifications but that really doesn't say much. So do any of you know what it means ?
So when i started it this afternoon after having driven it this morning the light didn't come on anymore so i'll keep your comments in mind in case it ever happens again.
It may not be on now, but it stored the code in memory. If you don't want to be possibly stranded somewhere, I'd have the codes read and let us tell you to worry or not? Do NOT let the person reading the codes erase them!

Just curious, why wouldn't you clear them???
I would make a note of what the codes are, clear them and see if they pop up again as a reocurring problem.
