Ok today I started on my oil cooler change and egr cooler delete I was going to just mig in a pic of stainless at each end. well I got to looking the cooler over because this is my first 6.0 psd well I don't know if it's a stock egr cooler or not it's got small round tubes inside the cooler and it says Garrett on the side of it so is this stoke or not
They do have a round cooler shape and if they had round coolant passages, the response would always be... find a 03-04' cooler... not buy a BPD EGR cooler.
Yes the early cooler had round Pipes inside BPD designed theres after the early egr cooler
However the Early cooler cannot be used on later 6.0L Because of the Length the later square egr cooler is Longer
A guy could put an early cooler in a late 6.0L but up pipes and such would need changed so its just not reasonable to go that route
Your EGR Cooler is the good one so now you would only deleate it to Stop EGR Gasses from being pumped in to the engine
It till works great I just wanted to mig it up why'll Im in there doing the oil cooler. This is my first time working on the 6.0 just took my time an it took me all day to take everything off
Keep the EGR cooler it the good type and just turn the system off with a tune.
You don't even have to do any more than the caned tunes from SCT to turn
the system off. But you can also go for more and have fun if you want.
