Dentside bed comparability...
This is probably a stupid question but I've never had a problem swapping beds but someone I was talking to did..
If I am correct, 73-79 f150-350 2x4 or 4x4, custom to lariat all have the same 2 beds. Either a 6ft or an 8ft. Exact same from truck to truck as long as. Is the correct length for the truck. Is this true?

The 73-77.5 F250 4WD have narrow frames so the attaching bolts are closer together.
The 73-79 2WD and the 77.5-79 F250 4WD have wide frames.
Then you also have the 73-79 SUPER camper special with the 140" wheelbase which is a whole different animal.
Not to mention the short and long wheelbase Flareside.

To put a older bed 73-77.5 F250 4WD (with the narrower bolt holes) on a newer wider frame and not have to drill new holes, weld tabs on the frame.
And vice versa if you are putting a newer bed on an older high boy frame.
And vice versa if you are putting a newer bed on an older high boy frame.

33 1/2" width between the inner frame rails behind the cab: 1961/72 F100/350 / 1973/77 F250 4WD (High Boys) / 1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase & Cab & Chassis.
37 1/2" width between the inner frame rails behind the cab: 1973/79 F100 & F350 except as noted above / 1973/79 F250 2WD / 1975/79 F150 / 1978/79 F250 4WD / 1979 F350 4WD
