Swapping Beds.....Info needed
I am in the process of restoring a 1975 F-250 Crew Cab 2wd Short Box. The bed that came on the truck is not too bad, but I found another bed that is in much better shape for a very good price. My question is this...I think the new bed is from a 78 or 79 truck. Mine is a 75. Are the frames a different width, and even if they are, will the bed fit? I never thought of the different frame widths before I bought the bed, and I hope I don't have a bed that I can't use.

I'm not sure on the frame widths of the crew cab, 73-79 2wd regular cab frames were the same. But if they are different, all you have to do is drill new holes. Your new bed will have the newer fuel door setup - much easier to fill the tank with that - lucky you...

i have a 78 f 250 4x4 the frame is 35 1/2 inches wide i dont belive the frames are different that would be to much trouble to make different beds for different model trucks i bought mine out of the auto trader dont even no what year truck it came from and it lined right up hope this helps you out
