Short bed compatability
Gents,
Have sen a few conflicting reports and would like to find out or sure. Will a 75 SWB 2wd fleetside bed bolt directly to a 78 SWB 4wd fleetside frame? I've heard some say frame widths are different, some say they aren't. Any input is greatly appreciated!

There are frame width issues with some trucks, like the 1973-77 F-250 4x4 Highboy.
However the 1975 2wd styleside bed will bolt up to the 1978 4wd styleside frame fine.
Be advised however that there are differences with the driver bedside on the styleside box, between 1975 and 1978.
1973-1976 has an exposed fuel filler with a round gas cap that match the body contor.
1977-1979 has fuel filler door, and the fuel filler and cap is behind the door.
Hope this helps.
