I remember when monster Cable came out everyone was saying how excellent is was and you could hear better sound with it then a few years later some tests were done and result was no difference is sound, it was all in their imagination
But monster Cable must last alot longer with all that rubber around it.
I looked online for auto monster Cable and the cable all had Jack's in the end.
Can someone ease take a second to post an amazon link to what monster Cable I need for my excursion?
And is it true monster Cable sounds do no better than regular speaker cable?
Monster cable is well marketed, but there is not really any difference in their cables and wire that you can purchase elsewhere.
If you can do your own terminations, you can save a ton of money, The gauge of wire (amount of Copper) is far more important that the name on the cable.
They charge a lot more for wire that in many cases is functionally no different that what is available elsewhere for less money without their name on it.
If you actually take the time to suss out the gauge requirements and do the math, standard hardware store lamp or zip cord is perfectly fine for runs up to 20 feet or more, no power or frequencies are going to be lost.
There is a funny online video of audiophile doing a blind test of speaker wire.
Wire A was the most expensive oxygen free pure silver wire.
Wire B was a coat hanger.
"Oxygen free" copper wire ... All copper wire is oxygen free, it can't be made any other way. I built amplifiers and tuners from kits, I like good sound too but a lot of these guys have way more money than brains. It's clever marketing.
That all was interesting. The reason the monster Cable always impressed me though was how thick the rubber coating the wire on monster was. That must make it last longer right?
I'm not doing any of the install myself. The last time I installed a stereo was probably 1986. And probably that was the most complicated electronic thing I've done.
What reason do people usually replace speaker wrote in cars anyway? How long does factory wire last?
I figured running forty feet wire from head unit under carpet and through doors soil really add to cost so maybe should have that done when I'm getting floorboards sound deadener. Comments?
