83 460 same as 79?

My 83 460 in my f250 needs some work. So I'm looking at swapping it out with a 79 I have a line on. So my question is are the accessories the same? Will I be able to bolt all my accessories from my 83 onto the same spot on the 79? Anything else I should know before I do this? Thanks in advance!

TWO different block casting numbers were used in 1979:

D1VE-6015-A2B has an internal balance.

D9TE-6015-AB has an external balance.

Is that the flywheel that's internally balanced? The guy said he would throw the flywheel in on the deal.
Anybody know if the accessories are in the same place?
Thanks for the reply

Both the harmonic balancer and flywheel (flexplate) are specific to either of these block casting numbers. You cannot substitute one for another.

The external balance D9TE block has a weighted crank spacer.

No, he's not talking about the flywheel, he's talking about the block. Do your homework here and be sure you end up with the correct combination of parts to use, mismatching parts from the two balancing techniques causes excessive vibration and you will destroy your bearings.

So if I bought this engine what parts would I need to change? It's a complete engine so I wouldn't be changing any parts unless I have to. Would I just be able to drop it in the way it is?
