Starter compatible ?

Hi guys new here just a quick question.. I have a 92 f250 7.3 idi n/a and E4Od I was at work in camp and they were scrapping a 7.3 turbo crew cab saw the motor had the international emblem anywho.. I yanked the starter for my truck the donor was a standard but the starter seems much smaller will this work for me ?

Go back and grab the motor, trans and core support. Then sell them to a fellow idi'er and take your stack of cash to buy a new starter.

Suggestion aside, I believe it will work. Our starters install in the bellhousing adapter which is universal for all idi motors.

Was it an IDI or Powerstroke?

If it was an IDI then yes it will bolt up, my only concern is the bendix gear, I am unsure of the Automatics, that can be visually inspected.
Being small, It could be a Mitsubishi starter for the IDI, they are good starters, Some say there is no better, they do require good batteries and cables though.

If it was a Powerstroke ... I have no clue!

EDIT
I'll say this, if it was an IDI Turbo and you walked away from it, there is a bunch of folks reading this through teary eyes!

-Enjoy

Unfortunately, I go to camp via a float plane or boat and it would be super hard to get the motor out (trust me I'm still trying to find a way to get it home), I managed to pull the starter, the positive lead to the starter and battery jumper and a couple injectors (I thought why. Not?)
When I go back after the long weekend I'm going to try to get some more goodies, the cab was chopped up pretty good so I wasn't able to tell what year but it did say (international 7.3 turbocharged model) on the motor and was the older body style before the super duty

Get a bigger plane or bigger boat, Either one can carry it, you, the wife and kids, camp supplies will just have to stay behind ... But that's ok, the important stuff will be out ...

I'm only kidding ...

On the real side, does it look like this 7.3L Turbo IDI

Or the 7.3L Powerstroke

Until you've run an idi with a turbo, you don't know what you are missing out on. And, if nothing else, it helps with highway fuel economy.

Yes you do, you just don't know it!

But think of this ... It's worth money as a complete package!

So you grabbed the Turbo ...

Did you grab the Cast Up pipe?
The Cast Y pipe?
The Cast Pedestal?
The Aluminum Snail off the Intake?
A bonus would be both valve covers ...
Personally, I would also take the filter assembly, even though I see a broken ear. But I realize the transportation issue so leave it ...

If it has a Glow Plug controller you might want to pocket that for yourself ...

The items circled ...

I'll just set here and cry about the other stuff, like the ZF5, The IDIT block!
