Hi all, most of my towing is with older superdutys and vans but, I just got a new 2016 f150 and 18' enclosed trailer. love all the fancy stuff like backup camera and light for hitching up, BUT, once I'm hitched, how do you turn it off! backing in tight spots at night, most every night, the dash screen lights the whole cab up and its hard to see the mirrors! (yes I have it dimmed as far as it goes) Right now I tape a piece of cardboard over the screen! not a good look on a truck with only 300 miles on it!
paint the cardboard Black.. call it a Mod....
, I have a Peak 3 1/2 inch backup camera to hook up to trailer.. and a Garmin GPS with a backup camera to see whats behind the 30 foot camper trailer.. both have an OFF...
but YES, my aftermarket radio "Kenwood" does NOT have an OFF button... just volume down to Zero. Modern Electrical ...

Humm, never thought of that. I was planning on putting a BU camera in my rig. Maybe I had better re think the cordless one so I can attach it to the back of the trailer or the truck as needed? Thanks for posting this up...
I had a cordless BU cam on my previous 32' TT an haven't put it on the new 5th wheel but will soon. Makes life much easier when I can see the wife and not come close to damaging the trailer and running her over. lol
ssunit1 - what do you have for a camera? Looking for a wireless unit for my horse trailer. Camera will be inside the aluminum trailer, and about 30 feet from the receiver in the truck. Currently thinking of going with one with a remote antenna that I can run all the way to the front of the trailer to cut down on how much aluminum it's gotta go through.
The camera and the transmitter are separate units connected by a wire. So you can put the camera inside the trailer and the transmitter outside the trailer so you get the best signal.

I have the older 3.5 inch unit.. like 5 years old..
still working, still useful...
Peak customer service was very good. My first camera fogged up every time I went through the car wash. They sent a replacement and I was probably out of the warranty period.
