I just did a bunch of work on my 6.0. Here's a list- head gaskets, arp studs, new heads, 2 new injectors, updated stand pipes and dummy plugs, water pump, and all new injector o-rings. After messing around with a bent pushrod, cylinder 5 code and and replacing injectors the truck runs excellent. After driving it a bit I get a code "P2290 injector control pressure too low". The truck runs great with no low power, stalls, or hard start cold or hot. Any ideas? I do puff black smoke but that's because of the sct tuner on performance tune. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Okay, do you have a smart phone? If so, get a blue tooth adapter, buy it and load the program from the app store. That is the cheapest way to get some numbers. Check your ICP values and your HPOP pressures. Report back. B.
Here is a sample of the adapter I mentioned. There are others just shop around.
Icp pressure at idle is 630psi. That's all I can see with my sct tuner. Does hat pressure seem high for idle? I think it tops out at around 3500psi when I'm given her the beans.
Update... Stock tune and no code so I guess it was the performance tune causing the code. I did just change the oil again so as of now, I'm good to go. Thanks by the way BLADE35 for reminding me to turn the tune off.
That code can be set from ICP commanded being too high too long vs actual. You can get it and the truck run flawlessly depending on programming. I used to get it going down the 1/4 mile. It was a programming trick to get max performance from the HPOP.
