Sputter when a\c off?

Sputter when a\c off?
So I am relatively new to diesel engines! I have a f250 6.0L, that every now and again sputters and idles rough, when the a\c is off? Yes I did say off. It's only done this twice, but when I turn the a\c on it goes away and runs fantastic. Not sure what could cause this, and think it's a little weird that it's not consistent. Sometimes I run it without a\c and it's fine, but this has happened twice now, so I thought it might be worth figuring out. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for the response, I will definitely have to look into that. Sometimes the truck does seem to take a bit to turnover. Could very well be the issue.
