All that happens when you go from down to up on a window motor is the polarity is reversed. So if it goes down but won't go up it is probably a switch issue. If the plastic rollers are bad it will run but not come up and you should be able to hear it run.

It does roll up and down from the driver side switch. I tried a new switch and that didn't fix it.

I usually start at the end and work backwards. Are you getting power at the motor in both direction? What switch did you replace? The driver or pass switch? It's possible that it will work from the drivers switch but the pass switch is still bad.

The plastic bushings inside the regulator gearbox have crumbled, this isn't uncommon but the fix is dirt cheap and not hard to do.

if it was the bushings it would not work with either switch.
since it works fine with the driver side switch, that leaves the passenger door switch as the problem. i have seen 3 brand new switches in a row bad.

A little story. Had dodge doing the same thing. Replaced the switch it would then only work the other way. Replaced the switch again and fixed it that time. Moral of story I bought a bad switch. And yes a test light is your friend.

I suppose that maybe the new Dorman switch is bad. I replaced the one on the passenger door since it was the one not working. I put the old switch back in. Since it works perfectly from the driver switch I wouldn't think there is anything wrong with the motor or regulator etc. I'm going to try another switch. If that doesn't work, I'd believe it to be wiring related. I just didn't see anything obviously wrong. I'll look at it a again.

Hey guys- my rear passenger window does the same: goes down OK but refuses to go up. Neither the driver's switch nor the one the rear door will make the window go up. I don't think it's a switch issue. So how do you access the motor? I'm not familiar with removing the inside door panel.
