Hey fellas.
So I replaced ball joints and hub bearings on driver side of the truck today ( passenger side tomorrow). Problem is when I pulled the axle out gear oil started to leak from axle housing not a lot but a leak nonetheless. Is this normal or did I break something.
Perfectly normal. If you have your truck tilted up on the side you're working on, you may not get any leak, but just remember, the front diff isn't so full that it has to leak. That shaft will fill that void with the seal to prevent leaking when installed.
I'd check the fluid level after finishing up when level, just to be safe.
We did front ball joints earlier this week without leaking.

Fluid level is good. Got it all back together and gonna drive it a few days to make sure nothing is spewing. Just got paranoid because I watched a few videos before starting and didn't notice any leakage. Thanks for the swift reply though.
