I noticed a small leak where the cv joint and the front diff housing bolt together. Both sides have oil moisture but the pass side has drops forming. I'm going in for an oil change tomorrow and will have the service dept check the leak.
Anyone here have exp. with front IFS and how mating surfaces. I guess I'm curious about what type of gasket is typically used in this area and if this is a common occurance.
Trucks..., I did notice some oil spots here and there on our "street-side" drive way but it's kinda hard to tell if they were recent. I didn't notice the origin of the leak until I was looking at my exhaust tubing.
The dealer has to special order a seal kit which he said should be in next week.

What do you all think abou the driver's side? It's the bottom photo. I just got off the phone with the service adviser and he stated that the tech only needed to replace the pass side because it was leaking. He claims that the tech stated that the driver's side was "dry" and did not need any attn. Is this BS or acceptable? My only problem is 1) where did the oil come from?
