WIFI Updates working?

Has anyone successfully done WIFI updates to their truck? I have automatic WIFI updates enabled but it connects to the WIFI, asks for the password and then just sits there.

Questions:
How do I know if it is working?

Will this WIFI procedure also update the NAV maps through WIFI or just the SYNC software?

It only updates if there is an update available. I haven't seen one yet.

Don't think it updates the Nav. At least it didn't on previous generations. You get to pay Ford more money for those.

Mine connects to Wifi, and supposedly it did an update on May 12 according to the Ford Owner site. I didn't see it happen.

I don't think there's been a navigation update for SYNC 3 yet. Since there's no SD card slot in these trucks, they'll have to do it via CD, USB stick, or wireless.

Mine updated via WiFi. From Sync 3 v1.1 to v2.2.

No update to the navigation maps.

Maps are on a separate chip next to the USB slots. No way to update it. It has to be replaced if you want to update the map.

The 2015 F150 uses an SD Card to update the maps, current version is A7 according to Ford Navigation Map Update website.

Ford/Mercury | Ford | U.S. AND CANADA SYNC NAVIGATION SYSTEM MAP UPDATE - VERSION A7 | HERE

Nothing available yet for 2016 or 2017, Likely will be either a download, WiFi or Ford will send a thumb drive.

Not sure what the update entailed, but my SYNC updated via Wi-Fi.. I haven't used the navigation so not sure if anything there was updated.

Mine also updated this past Saturday from version 1.0 to 2.2 and like you, I also have a 2016 F150

The original notice said that 2016 F150 owners would have to update via USB but another notice came out a couple of weeks ago stating that the update can be done OTA.

Just keep your " Automatic Updates " setting on and make sure that when you exit your vehicle, you have at least 2-3 WiFi signal strength bars on your SYNC screen.

The vehicle does not have to be running.

Hope this helps.
