Another Brake Controller Question

I just bought a 2001 F250. It did not have a owners manual in it.
I want to put a Hopkins brake controller in it and bought the wiring connector for the plug under the dash.
Now here is my question.
Where does the Black wire get its power? It won't work without power.

Any help?

Thanks

If I remember right you have to install a fuse in the fuse box under the hood, if you want 12v to the trailer plug you will also have to install a relay and fuse for that. Someone with that year of truck will have to look at their manual to get you the fuse size and number.

With the relay and fuse in place, it should power up as soon as you turn the ignition on and be ready to rock.

Don't need a relay. Just a fuse in the #28 spot.
I put it in the wrong spot the first time.

Works great now.

Thanks

The relay is for the 12v to the 7pin connector when the truck is running to charge trailer battery.

I don't need it right now, but where would the relay go?
There is a little relay box that has room for 2 relays next to the fuse box under the hood.
Would it go in there? Which one?

Thanks
