Keeping electrical energized while battery removed

I've heard there are ways to keep the electrical "on" with the battery removed so no need to reset the radio presets, fuel trim, yada yada.

I'm thinking I could connect my 12 volt trickle charger terminals to the battery terminals not connected to the battery. Thx

That would work. You can also ue a 9v battery wired to a lighter socket plug.

I just use my 12v/5v lab power supply with a dedicated pigtail on it. It's good for up to 10A, far more than a trickle charger could safely deliver. Gotta keep in mind that opening the door triggers interior lights and other stuff too. Better safe than sorry
