Awesome. Thanks for the info guys, I was looking into forscan but I didn't know it worked with Bluetooth too. I hope I'll have a root cause determined by tonight. I also did a bubble test yesterday and the injectors have held up well. I hope the buzz test will rule out any other issues before I dig out #7.
Has anyone used the car guage app to buzz test a 6.0? I'm seeing guys doing it on the 7.3 but it didn't work when I tried on my 6.0.

I think it was Cargauge that I used once. I could not get it to do it again so I haven't used it in over a year.
When you Start the test on Forscan remember it buzzes all of them at the start then does each one in NUMBER order (not firing order) cylinder 1, 2, 3, 4,.....ect then at the end it will buzz them all again.
So it's no wonder my truck would have such a terrible time starting. It failed the buzz test. Two of the eight injectors are clicking, barely. I notice a few others are kicking in towards the end of the cycle when I turn on the ignition but the buzz test didn't kick in more than just #2 & #4. Any ideas? I'm assuming ficm.
This is where a spare known good injector comes in handy. I'd plug in the spare injector and see if it comes alive on any of the dead ones during the buzz test. If it does, you know the circuit is good and the injector is bad or stuck.
You could also try to put the engine harness injector plug #4 on injector #6 and see if it comes alive during a buzz test. If it doesn't again would point to a bad injector.
My opinion is the injectors are faulty but I would confirm first the FICM is ok.
That's exactly what I'll do. Thanks for the tip. I have my new #7 injector that I'll plug in to see if it buzzes. If I do get new injectors, are they the best price at swamps and should I upgrade to 150s?
Stock injectors are 135s. 150's, that's up to you, but I would be doing Ford remans from Ford! https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...injectors.html
Then return the cores to your local Ford dealer for a faster refund!
IF I did 150s, they would be from a new, out of the box Ford Reman. One company that sounds like they have their stuff together has been mentioned here before, don't remember the name... starts with a "C". Campbells or something like that. They use Ford remans to start with, out of the box, the right way.
Are the injectors passing after the trucks warmed up? You could plug the truck in, that should get you close to 120*, then buzz them. I'd also try heating the FICM with a hair dryer, then buzz them.

Has anyone used Warren diesel injectors? I see a lot of good reviews. They also replace spool valves and solenoids while upgrading the flow and nozzle. I guess if I knew my injectors were good previously I'd have mine rebuilt but since I don't know the history I'd rather buy the Ford remans.

That's what I'll do next. The truck starts and runs well after it's warmed up so I'm assuming the buzz test will pass. I'm just concerned about the cold start. I want it to start like a cummins lol
