Is there such thing as a electronic locking diff. ???
I got a 94 powerstroke 4x4 and I was wondering is there a electronic locking rear end available for my truck that can switch to positive traction when desired ?
Yea there's a few. Eaton, ox, yukon I think. I know the ox lockers can be manual, electric, or air depending on which you decide. Quick Google search will give you more info.

But when you Google it, look for electric lockers, not electronic. There are lockers that use electricity to actuate them. But there aren't any solid state lockers I'm aware of. I'm not saying this to be a jerk, just that Google searches work better if you use the right words.

There is one that does this. Most elocker switch are open/locked, the Auburn Ected (horrible name) is limited slip/locked. But the problem with the Auburn is it apples more pressure on the clutches to "lock" it and if you slip it in ls mode the clutches wear out and it makes it a loose limited slip/slightly tighter limited slip and eventually just a regular bad limited slip for $800 when worn out.
Save the headache and get a eaton elocker that's open/locked

I guess I took the question differently, that he was asking if there was a selectable locker that went from open to locked using an electric signal. But yes, there is the Ected that goes from limited slip to... more limited slip? with a flip of the switch if that was his question.
