I was going to ask you how the second voyage of the S.S Chief went , but told us first. You maybe money ahead just to get a kit rebuild the carb
That is what I was just looking into. At least the ride lasted more than 15 minutes this time, will get it running right one day soon I hope, seems to be never ending.
Which island are you going too? I spend a summer with my grandfather in Freeport and it was fantastic. Really want to do an RV trip to Key West one day, we went on a family vacation there I was in my teens. I love the tropical, vacation feel of the islands. I have a cruise on the bucket list too.
The 5.0, 5.7 and the 7.4 engines all use the same carb so it looks like it should work as a temp fix. I have the morning shift with the little man, so when the wife gets up I am going to be all over it.

The carb off the motorhome won't work, runs very bad and won't idle at all. Guess i will have to wait... dang it man.
Don't know why, but I remember back in high school working at a marina, there are very few parts from the cars, or trucks will work on a boat. One of the reasons they cost so much to keep on the water. When they are running great, and on the water, a lot of fun. When they're not, just a whole in the water waiting for you to put in more money. Good luck Chief
Safe travels Hugh, at least those boats have more than one engine.
I ordered a marine carb rebuild kit and I also ordered a brass float for it too. Both for less than 45 bucks with shipping so no complaints here. I haven't rebuilt a carb in over 15 years, I know I still can but everything nowadays is fuel injected.
I thought I would give it a shot with the motorhome carb and try to get some lake time but no luck. Going to hang around the house and BBQ and do a little swimming in the pool. Wife made hot wings tonight and I'm watching the Coke 600 but the eyelids are getting heavy.
Blessings and remembrance today to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our wonderful nation. I know I had said it before but I have been all over this world and we really do have the greatest nation in the world!!
Took a day off and finally went swimming in my pool for the first time. We are grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, I also got some brats to throw on there too.
Sorry, i have been MIA the last couple weeks I have been hustling with side jobs one weekends to pony up the cash for new engine in the dent and I finally have it!. Some time this weekend I am going to order it.
@Big_Texxan man I would love to see how the home made wood bed turns out. I confess I wish I could build or fabricate more but right now the mission is to finish by Fall.
@ Chief the boat looks great, I will be more then happy to come water ski behind it when you are done give you a hand if I were closer.
The wife and I may move torward ATL or Tennessee maybe next summer but who knows. Plans change.
I ordered a heater core, plugs, gaskets for the new engine. I will be ordering an American Eagle Rad too. On the hunt for a 2000 stall converter that not the same cost as the transmission.
