I have been catching up on past due chores around the house since the last 2 weeks have been crazy. It took me 5 hours just to mow the grass tuesday and I installed a new head unit in the daughter's mustang yesterday.
Wife blew a tire on the utility trailer when she was in Florida, It bent up the fender and destroyed the taillight assembly so I have to fix the fender and putting new LED lights on it.
Me too. A couple coworkers and I seem to be the only ones who actually are happy about me going home that night.
The major damage is about fixed now. Been at it for 40 hours since it happened. Havent slept a lick, my head keeps turning, watching it over and over and just stupid ****.
Buddy came today, wanted to have me diagnose a sound in his Dakota like mine. Offers to take me to lunch for taking the time out of work to do it and what not. Going back to the shop, im riding with him to listen and pin point it.... BOOM!. I look at him and say, well I found your issue.
Differential exploded. Chewed the ring and pinion gear to ****. It was a very odd sound. It was hard to pinpoint it. But hes had it for a while, and was worried it was the trans or front diff. He was relieved it was the rear axle, easy for me to repair, I felt bad, because he had just bought my lunch
Nothing exciting around here. Got the dash indicators working again. In the process broke the PRNDL indicator. Mounted the electric cruise control servo , hooked up the electrich vacuum pump to find out I got a small leak some where.
Hello everyone!
I have been real busy with work the last couple of months, so not much progress on the '50 F1, but I did get the jag ifs tack welded in place, I am making templates to box the frame today, and hopefully will have the front end finished in the next week or so. I am also trimming the rear frame rails to drop in a 1970 Mustang fuel tank today. As soon as the ifs is fully welded in, I will be dropping in a 4.6l from an '04 CVPI. Once that is finished, it will Be time to start doing the body work on the cab. Anyone know a good body man near Waleska?
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Phillip
Hey phillip!!!
Glad to hear you are making some headway on the truck. We drove across the state line, which is right down the road to check out Lake Weiss, I can see that I need a boat!!!!
Dad went to tinker with the old truck, he made a little progress. I like having a parent who taught me old cars and still has a craving to work on them.

Everybody needs to have hole in the water to throw money into. LOL. They are a lot of fun
On a more sad note, I lost a great friend, and my Father in law Thursday evening. 82 years old, and still had the heart of a twenty year old. He just a month ago finished building a mobile saw mill, why ? Because he thought it would be great to be able to make his own lumber. Rest in Peace Russell.
Sorry for your loss Bob,
I lost my father in-law 5 years ago, he was my best friend too. Still miss the hell out of that guy. The 1979 F100 I have was his and I am going to get at back to the condition it should be in.
Trust me Hugh I got out of there as fast as possible.
