On my drive home I did discover a couple of issues I need to address. The E4OD transmission overdrive light is blinking which I understand is the limp home mode indicator. I rechecked my a/c pressures later in the day when the outside temperature was 105 and they were high. I adjust for the temp and took a short drive. The rear a/c quit working on the way home. It's acting like the rear expansion valve is faulty. I did pull valve out and checked to see if it was clean but didn't replace it. My bad as I replaced it several years ago and was saving a buck.
You may have had some contamination enter the system during this saga, and it may have been caught by the rear expansion valve. You may have needed to replace it again had you put a new one in.
Well I left my "BGMP" (big green money pit) at the tranny shop that did the E4OD rebuild today. The error code indicated a short in the wiring harness or control module in the tranny. I ask if it was something I could check myself and he said just leave it to him. I guess there are some thing you can't fix yourself.
My tranny guy changed out the control module and the same code comes back, P-1747 (EPC solenoid A-shorted). He said he's not a wiring guy so I'll have to troubleshoot it from here. Tomorrow I will pull the tranny cable off and check the socket. If the socket looks good I'll take a meter to the cable. The tranny harness and the engine main harness are all I removed. I'll know more tomorrow.
I pulled the E4OD wiring harness off today. I was encouraged to find that it was pinched behind a tranny hard line (the line that runs between the two banjo bolts on the passenger side of the trans connecting the two cooler lines). I disassembled the harness.
My research says the A solenoid is the y/w wire. I check every inch and could not see or feel damage. It was pinched 4-6" above the control module connector.
The clip that secures the control module connector is broken, happened during tranny removal.
I have seen connector repair kits, does anyone know where I can get a good one? I will try and find an E4OD thread to repost this also.
I believe your van has the 4R100, which is an evolution from the E4OD. I believe the controls are different, so info from others with the older generation may not apply.
