here is the first graph from the data link in post #28. I know it is very congested & crowded, but I wanted to include all the data PID's so nothing was left out. I will remove the AIT temps & speed in the 2nd graph to make it easier to read.

There was no time column in the graph so I'm not sure how long the data logging was for (zero's along the bottom axis). But for the first data log it's pretty good.

edit: the data labels point to which axis/scale to use.

Here is the 2nd graph with some of the PID's removed to clear it up.

here are the min & max values:

all three (EOT, ECT & Trans Temp) climb over 215 with EOT maxing out at 229.

Was this while driving - or sitting still in park in your driveway with occasionally blips of the fuel pedal?

With the FAN speed being so jumpy, I wonder if your fan motor/clutch is bad.

With my 6L, the fan sits between 400 and 700 from initial start up in the AM through a normal long drive, I use the A/C almost all the time in FL.. There are a few times where I'll stop at a light and for a brief moment when I step on the fuel pedal my FAN RPM will jump to 1100+ and I'll hear the Jet-engine and look up and notice the FAN speed and it'll jump down to normal.

Since your ECT/EOT temps keep climbing and climbing and climbing but your FAN drops so often I'd check for a loose/chaffed connection to the FAN first.

3500 miles - all during winter? when it's cold outside... with no heat it sounds like a water pump (unless the previous owner - bypassed the heater core, which would indicate a bigger problem exists)

the fan jumping was me hitting the gas to see if the fan speed was matching with the engine rpm

according to the data log he was driving from zero to 88 mph over a 34 minute period. In the top two graphs it shows the data from the 2nd half of the log file. 34 minutes and 4100 rows of data really cramps the graph up. the first 1/2 of the data log is with KOEO then at at idle for approx 15 minutes. Here is what the total file looks like graphed - the data log is too large to show a good representation since it will only use 1 out of ever 50 data points so it can fit on the screen:

that's a huge data file but good for the first log. next time we'll tone her down to a 1 sec log interval and 5 minutes or less. But it was good to see it all on this log to see how long it takes for the temps to climb from a cold engine at KOEO to your current temps.

Looks like the fan is operating as it should. After the TRanny fluid, oil & coolant go above 215F the fan RPM's follow in line with engine RPM's.
