1st, sounds like you better tell the wife you're sorry. How far down the hole is the broken ez out? Can you reach the ez out with a punch and Light hammer? GENTLY hitting it side to side to try and get it to release?

Get what thread you can get and go with it. Otherwise, you need a guy with an acetylene torch to burn. Risky stuff.

Bad weekend for the vets
Thanks Cougar John. Yeah, bad Karma. I should have gone to church. Nothing bad has ever happened to me there!

When did you serve?

Thank you for your service. Hoist a mug for those who can't.

I'll give this a try. It basically in the bottom 1/3 of the hole. I thought about using a punch to try and "chip away" at it, but figured the punch tip is just as likely to break!

I feel like an idiot. I should have known not to "push" the tap. I should have backed it out once it didn't want to move anymore. As Charlie Brown would Say... Arrrgh, Good Grief!

Sorry you had to learn a hard lesson but you've learned a lot.

Now once you get a threads started then use a bottom tap. This won't have a pointed tip but flat bottom so you can tap into bottom of the hole.

If you can't get a lot of good threads may be think about putting in a stud to save the threads what's there.
