Removing a broken Bolt Extractor

I broke a bolt head and drilled it out then used a bolt extractor to remove the bolt threads from the bolt hole. then the extractor broke off in the drilled out hole. Does anyone know how to remove a bolt extractor when just about 3/8 off the tip of the extractor. I have tried to drill the extractor out but I broke 5 bits trying to drill it out. Any Ideas?

Thats about the hardest thing to do. However you can try to smack it with a punch and see if you can break it out. Also you can get some cobalt drill bits and give it a try. A guy that I know that has a machine shop says he uses masonry bits only. Could also try to smack it in clockwise direction to see if it will loosen it up.
The number one tip I can give you for drilling it out is to get a drill that has a torque setting and set it low enough that it won't break your drill bit.

If enough of it is exposed, clamp the drill on whatever is left and spin it clockwise. If not, can you torch the bolt? or die grind the bolt? or cutoff wheel enough of the bolt to start over? With not much clearance. it is tough. On one I had to drill 5 1/32" holes around the EZ break (I mean out) and punch it clockwise from an angle through the holes. Then, because I got into the block, redrill and tap/chase the threads. Good luck. Those fricken hardened steel buggers can be a PITA
