Ok been a while since an update with the new truck getting work, the cold, and cutting up my hand I have not had much time to keep moving. However I have a template for the new gauge pod base to include switches and will have a buddy make that up for me. Then I ordered joints for the rear suspension and dom tube. I have a bracket being plasma cnc cut this week for mounting the links. I’m thinking 4 link on the rear keeping everything outboard will be easier in the long run. Once the gauge pod is done the dash can go back in and I can finish wiring and plumbing. After that it’s a test start and mount t case and the rest of the body.
Hopefully this weekend ill I’ll get some time to get things moving along.
Got it started on mounting the t case today. Worked out a plan and got the idea I want in my head. Made one mounting bracket 3 more to go.
I’m leaving about 18 inches for the stub shaft. I can’t get any straight answers from driveshaft companies they all seem to want the original or every single measurement to get an idea of it can be done or not so we will see how this works. The drivers side bracket outside the frame.
Got more done on the t case crossmember. My welds were crap due to 7018 rod and tons of humidity but they will hold and I’ll clean them up. I gotta finish welding and paint it then put it in for good.
Also got the ps return routed and ps cooler mounted. I figured out the fitting for the feed for the ps pump too. So progress is being made.
Inside the frame mount on other side The other cross piece is in place and it’s all held together now but I didn’t get a pic
Now things are gonna start moving. Got suspension parts in. My brackets are cut and I can now mock up the axle side of the rear suspension.
The bracket on the stock spring plate. The air bag plate and a spacer tube will tie it all together. The cut for the stock bracket. Side view. Front view. Heim joints are pretty big. 7/8 heim with 7/8 thread. Not pictured is 1.25 Id .25 wall dom tuning for the links.
