My 2001 ford explorer has been broken down for three months. . Changed the fuel filter and changed the oil, and fluids..2hours after driving it won't start! I got the code p0230 but I can hear my fuel pump functioning. I checked the relay. I can't seem to figure it out. Pls help
do you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail near the injectors ? My F150 has a Schrader valve on the fuel rail that you can press and should get a squirt of fuel out of it.
The P0230 can be either due to a short to ground or a short to battery power. You mention you hear the fuel pump functioning. Do you ever hear it shut off? When the ignition key is first turned to Run you should hear the fuel pump run for about 1 second, then shut off.
Which engine does your Explorer have? You mentioned after 2 hours of driving it won't start. Does the starter spin the engine over it just never starts, or does the starter not even spin the engine? After it cools down will it start?
It was driving fine, went go drive to the store and it died at the end of the driveway. Has not started since. Everything under the hood looks great and works great. It's just not starting. I have enough spark and I have enough power but it doesn't start
if you have fuel and you have spark, it will start if the timing is right.....If your sure the injectors are working, then timing is off...... Maybe put a shot of ether into the intake and see if it trys to fire and start. If not, that will confirm that fuel is not the problem.
