Hard startin problems
Hey guys i have a 2001 ranger with a 4.0l v6 and it starts hard everyonce in a while. When i get in to start it it just spins over, if i quit and cycle the key a few times then it starts fine. Would it be a bad relay or a pluged fuel filter, or is my puel pump going out? But some times when i get in it it will start right up.

Kinda sounds like a fuel delivery problem, with it clearing up by cycling the the fuel pump a few times.
At KOEO, do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds & shut off, before cranking the engine????
The fuel pump relay is often a culprit in no starts, so maybe try swapping it with a like relay not needed to run the engine & see if things clear up.
Have you done a fuel pressure check lately???

like pawpaw said check your fuel pressure, make sure you have a good fuel filter...
