Some have wired their air ride compressor, auxiliary amplifier for CB or anything electrical you might want to add. The convenience is the wire is there, ready for use without having to bug onto the fuse box. Some of the switches are key switched and some are always on.
Re: rear end ratio. The camper package upgrades the rear end to 3.55 on the SRW 4x4 PSD as does the snowplow pkg. I believe the camper package has additional spring support in the rear with only 1 spring upgrade to the front. The snowplow package has the greater upgrade to the front. The predominance of the lower ratio rear ends indicates that Ford is keeping the RPM's lower for the PSD and deeper into the torque curve. The strong pulling power at the lower RPM's helps increase fuel milage.
Yes very disappointing I won't be able to get LED's on my Lariat SuperCab, hopefully a retrofit will be possible.
On the ford website write up of the 2017 sd, there is a a couple pics of a supercab with the led headlights. If its the same truck in these two pics. It may have been a truck they special made for photos and advertising before they decided to not offer them on supercabs. Who knows. Scroll down about half way down where it says "INNOVATION TO THE NTH DEGREE".

Unfortunately those two trucks are not the same. Zoom in on even the grainy pic of the SuperCab truck with the doors open, and you will see the passenger seat is not power. You will also see it has the standard XLT rims. Ford had a lot of the beautiful Ruby Red Tint trucks for the displays - some had the LED lights and some did not.
I think LED should be optional throughout the range, but relax, it is going to be a beautiful truck regardless. Even an XL truck is going to be really pretty nice.
Yep, looks like an xlt in the second pic. Guess the only option for someone like me who wants a supercab, is to see if the dealer could somehow order the whole ledheadlight assembly and install them. It would be expensive, but nowhere near the cost of ultimate package that comes with other stuff i dont want and an extra 2 to 3 grand for a crew cab on top of that. Probably wont be able to tho if the leds have a different setup and wiring.

Good news:
There appears to be a company in Atlanta which is sourcing the OEM Ford LED headlamps and selling them with the conversion harness - plug and play. Here is the link:
Yup, the non-led version of the 250 looks about the same as the LED (styling wise), unlike the F150 which looks like a serious downgrade in the non-led version
sounds good. are these actual oem lights from ford. And are you talking just the actual lights or the whole assembly along with the wrap around strip led day running lights also.
nevermind. I just saw that they offer the whole assembly for the f150 so i assume they will for the sd also. . This is good to know. Thanks for the link.
I saw it a few days ago and it appears to be all the same as the actual order guide, just one the fancy color one. Similar comments at the bottom of the article as here.
If the new sd bodies are the same as the f150, then why is the wheelbase of the SD screw 164" and the f150 screw 6.5 bed is 156.8,(according to fords website.) is the bed a little longer on the SD or something?

The F150 has 6.5' bed and the Super Duty has 6.75' bed, so that's 3". The other increase is likely in the front, to allow room for the big honking 6.7L diesel.
