Stuck Starter
'89 F-150 with the 5.0, 2 wheel drive, regular cab. Just bought it a few weeks ago. I have put in a new starter, new battery (PO had a battery that was too small) new solenoid on the fender and new positive and refurbished the negative battery cable. The key cylinder will turn without the key to engage radio, but not the starter. I am fairly certain the Neutral Safety switch is bad, as it will not start at times unless I hold the shift lever up in park.
The other problem I have had is the starter sticking. It has happened twice, I removed the negative battery to stop it. I'm thinking this is not related to the neutral safety switch. Could it be related to the key switch?
