DEAR GOD HELP ME.........................

IN A nutshell here is my initial problem: My truck (81' F250) would not turn over. All it did was *click* click* the starter was bad so i replaced it: no help...replaced the battery, and cables, and the solenoid.. So i go and start fiddling with the ignition switch mounted below the dash on the steering column..The starter activated and is now stuck. So i had to jump out and disconnect one of the battery cables .. So i figure the starter SWITCH is bad ,got a new one and the starter is still stuck spinning . No matter where the key is in the ignition,it activates.I even disconnected all the wires to the solenoid except the battery cables, and the starter still turns when i connect the negative cable...WHAT IS GOING ON?

As for the original problem, I'm not sure, but it sounds like your solenoid is stuck now, so try smacking it with a hammer (lightly) or replacing it again, and go from there. One thing to keep in mind, now that the starter ran, you know that the wiring from the battery to the starter is good. If you hook up your old solenoid, test it by jumping from the battery terminal to the ignition terminal. If nothing happens, make sure that the solenoid has a good ground. It grounds thru the mounting bolts to the fender. You could also check the wiring from the ignition switch to the solenoid by using a test light or a volt meter, preferably the test light, because it would actually place a load on the circuit as you test it. Good luck!
