Ok now I gotcha. I didn't know whether it was safe to lift on the axle tube or differential. Of, course if you change springs, you have to put a jack under
the differential. I always am trying a way to get it on one of the frame members. Can't believe I didn't know about it screwing out--oh well
Yep, for changing a flat tire lifting on the axle is ideal, you only need to lift it enough to fit the new inflated spare onto the hub. Lifting by the frame requires a much taller jack as you then need to extend the suspension fully before the tire will lift off the ground.
Changing to different springs will not change the ground to axle height, adding taller tires to the mix with those springs will add half the extra tire height over stock to the distance.
