Hey all been reading on trying to fix my cruise control and thought about something. When I rebuilt the brakes I replaced this switch. (see photo). Is this the grey switch I have been reading about? If so I will leave it unplugged until I can get the right one from Ford dealer. This is switch got from Napa.
Switch i got from Napa.<br/>
The recall was done years ago but the more I read the more I questioned myself is this the right switch or not? I figured unplug, post and see cruise not working anyway. So am I safe with this one or should I get. One from dealer?
Thanks in advance. I appreciate all the help I get from everyone on the forum.

No one gonna reply? I realize it may be a situpid question but I am not sure if the recall will stop any issues or not . so my guess is to get motorcraft part and then plug it back up. Then try to diagnose cruise.
So if anyone has any information I would really appreciate a reply.
Sorry fur wasting your time but I thought that questions were what this forum was for!
Yes, that is the Brake Pressure Switch that was part of the recall. Since you have the recall harness installed I see no problem with using an aftermarket or OEM BPS.
As long as the BPS is closed with no pressure applied to the brakes it's good.

Rka2005, thanks for the reply. And thanks for the diagrams and the troubleshooting guide.
That will come in handy.
I do need to check the switch as I have not done so.
This is the last major system that I have not gone thru on the truck.
I'm not sure when but stopped working as I don't always use it. The highways are too congested around where I travel most and frankly I usually don't need it. But I hate not having it if I want it.
I don't like having a feature and just letting be " broken".
I will fix it. Possibly very slowly but it will get fixed. I have never worked on cruise before that was not something very easy to spot. This one is starting to be a real head scratcher.
When this is fixed truck will be back to 100% functioning correctly. Anything else that is done to it will be wants not needs to be fixed it changed.
Thanks again for the info. I will put it to good use!
