The 360/390 (FE engine family) was dropped after the '76 model year. It was replaced by the 351M/400.

Hi All,
I was just given a 1976 F-350 Flatbed with dual rear wheels.
v-8 4 speed.... Where can I find out what this truck originally came with?
I have looked at several sites where you post your vin number and can get information but each one has been un successful.

E37MRB57576 Thats the VIN. I was just curious as to what engine it has- it is a 4 bbl carb. Currently it has no smog stuff on it and I am getting it smogged this week.

Cheers-

Maybe it's an optical illusion but that brown and yellow truck looks bent.

The sites you visited probably needed a 17-character VIN and Dentsides don't have that many alphanumerics in the VIN.

There is no E37 but there is an F37...

Based on what ya posted....
M= 390FE
Assembly plant = San Jose
Consecutive Unit number/Model year = 1976

Good luck with emissions testing. Ya might get some slack since it was a cab & chassis model.

VIN: F37MRB57576
F37 = F350 Cab & Chassis.

M = 390 4V

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

B57576 = 1976.

Your F350 was purchased as a Cab & Chassis (no "back of cab" equipment). The flatbed was then installed by a dealer or owner.

F350's with dual rear wheels were not available with a pickup bed (Styleside only) until 1980.
