Visit the Tech Info Compilation in my signature. There is a link at the top of Part One to decode that warranty plate.

then mine is a after market replacement?
or it's not as the other F100's etc. have been
might need to look a little more for the original one?
there is another one on the fire wall

really trying to confirm the paint codes, even thou it has been restored the colors seem to be correct to the year

That's not the warranty plate, that's the Federal Certification sticker. The warranty plate will have the paint codes on it. It's a metal plate riveted to the driver's door just below the latch.

yep,
then it's been removed and moved else where?
Need to look at the one that has been screwed to the fire wall, but did not think it was the standard door "Plate"

Can replacements be ordered?
that is if I go home tonight and do not find that it is there, under 14 coats of Brown Metallic paint!

If your's is gone, you can get a replacement tag that has all the correct info on it from Kevin Marti. Send him your truck's VIN number.
You can also get the special rivets for the tag.
Marti Auto Works - Replacement Door Tags plus more
His work is to notch, this is an example:

Is this the only place these tags were installed? It looks like the door on my truck is not original so the info on the tag is incorrect.

and I will admit I've opened the door and looked at the jamb, not the door itself!
Da!

Yes, the warranty plates were only installed on the driver's door, that's why they can't be used as an official VIN plate, the door isn't a permanent part of the truck.
Sometimes there was a "buck" tag that was attached to the firewall with a sheetmetal screw but a lot of trucks didn't have this, that also had the VIN on it.
If you want to get the correct warranty plate, make sure the VIN on the title matches the VIN that's stamped on the frame and order one from Marti. All you need is the VIN, Marti has the records to fill in all the correct data for your particular truck.

wow that's great Mike
will make a copy for my files
I looked at it and I thought it said it came with a 360?
so everything is still numbers matching and correct drive train with the exception of the 4 barrel intake and carb upgrade
and I ordered some touch up paint yesterday and at least got the Dark Brown Metallic correct! not so sure about the Light Chamois? will have to look to see what I did order but it was the only "yellow" on the chart for 78's?

this weekend the goal is to get the truck out and photo shoot the hole truck, I was just relying on the Gateway ad photos then lost that! Galveston here I come
