V10 Excursion and oil usage

After 1,300 miles or so with the new PCV valve installed and 10w30 in the engine I'm back to using about 3/4 of a quart per 1000 miles. I'm hoping it was just a cheap/crappy no name PCV valve. Won't really know for sure until we take another long trip but at least it seems to have stabilized.

Let us know if you get all figured out.
I just put mobile 1; 15000 mile oil in mine.....adding 1 quart every 1000 miles. Change filter every 5000 or so miles. At that point 5 quarts out of 7 have been replaced.
By 7000 miles I've had a complete oil change without any dry starts or oil to dispose of.
Never have old oil in my V10!!!
Fords mandatory oil change requriments.

We just got back from a 4500 mile road trip. Added two quarts of Mobil 5w20 oil along the way, which seems like an alarming amount to me, but well within the normal range of what I read on here. Fresh motorcraft PCV was installed before the trup.
