There were minor changes over the years that may affect part applications... Plus your engine label states "EGR, Catalyst, PVC" so logically the engine (or perhaps just the valve covers!) came from when cat converters were required... Furthermore, part of the label refers to single tank and dual fuel tanks... that would lead me to postulate the engine came from an 80s F-series truck/Bronco or Econoline.
Again, more sleuthing on your part is needed to narrow down your engine donor.... What years were carbureted 351Ws offered in F-trucks/Broncos/Econolines? Which models were offered with dual tanks?
But we're still missing the pertinent info ..... is it a 351W or a 302?
Ok, so my 1971 (Sport Custom) actually has dual gas tanks. Also, based on the pics you guys posted earlier, I have a 351W because of where the distributor is set in low vs. the distributor set high/flush with the top for the 302.
I noticed my sticker says 351W on it, but I'll remove the starter and see if I can see the engine numbers as was suggested. I looked at the post about decoding the stickers for 1980+ models, but I think mine is pre-1980 as the sticker format seems to match other 70's stickers I saw doing a google search (I could be wrong though).
