It will bolt up. Look at the rear drive shaft that will tell if they are the same. Some bolted direct to the u-joint and some had a splined yoke then ujoin. most likely they are BW 1345 or BW1356
I will try to look tomorrow, the 7.3 is the 350, the gasser is a 351- 250. The gasser has a rotten frame and the 350 118,XXX miles with the damage done during the Jan. 30"+ snow. The guy says it jumps in and out of 4 Hi. with noise. I can buy both pretty reasonable I think
I'd say pull the 7.3 T-case and rebuild it. Chances are it's reparable with a few bearings, parts and maby some JB weld. Alternately, I'm sure you can always pick up a T-case cheap at the junk yard, no need to buy an entire vehicle.
For these old ford all same spline count outshaft and bolt pattern. I run a 78 bronco transfer case on a 93 zf5, and ran 76 f150 transfer case on mazda 5 speed. The yokes do change thou. 1345 will swap with a 1356, but most 1345 are fixed yokes, and 1356 are slip and their different lengths. Go look and get the right one, you brother in law 1990 is on thats in the change over period. I had one 91 with a 1345 and another with 1356. I got 4 spare 1356's under my deck.
