4r100 no reverse help!
Any Ideas?
I've thought about ebay but they are all rebuilt. I guess that will be all I can find for my budget.

New pump, tc, and forward frictions have arrived.
Today I assembled the barrel. I cleaning everything and air checked everything with 30psi. All made a good hard thud. Forward and direct would leak down in a bout 3 seconds everything else would hold pressure forever.
I began taking apart the valve body to clean it. Some of the valves were tough to get out. Tomorrow I will pick up a new filter (the other one was full of aluminum) and some fine emery cloth to clean valves if needed.
I'm still wondering what caused the no-forward in the first place. I did not see anything major wrong except for the burnt forward clutches. But what could have caused that? The fluid was solid black, even after the friction material settled at the bottom it obviously has not been changed in a long time if at all. Did the old burnt fluid cause the forward clutches to burn out? I guess it is possible there was a leak in the center support or the sealing rings but I did not air check anything on the initial tear down. Or the valve body? If i'm not mistaken the solenoid pack has nothing to do with first gear or any it seems.
What does the solenoid pack do anyway?
This time I will check the pressures before any test driving.
