Dash light mystery

Upon the recommendation of another member I am posting this here as well. It's already in the general discussion. Just hoping for some answers or even good questions and paths to investigate. Here it goes
Hello everyone I have a 2003 Excursion 6.0. I didn't post this in the 6.0 section because it may not be just a 6.0 issue. (See what I get) On cold starts, anything under 150 degree water temp reading on the SGII. I get a CHECK GAGE light on accompanied by the check engine light. No codes read on the SGII pending or stored. Just some of the time I get a water in fuel light too. This tends to go out fairly soon after driving. (Even after I just drain the fuel pump it still happens.) other issues that accompany the lights are as follows.
The trans temp does not give a reading to the dash. The oil temp does not give a reading the dash. Both show proper temp on the SGII. When in reverse the back up alarm beeps as if something is behind me. And the auto door locks will not activate after 10 mph. The tach also will not show a reading in the dash. SGII shows the numbers. Now the kicker, this ALL gets resolved the instant the water temp hits 150 degrees. The only lingering issue is the that the tach will surge or drop every now and then. The tow/haul light does not come on when this is going on. Anyone have any ideas? I've checked the battery terminals all are clean. Both batteries are brand new. thanks for your time

Sounds like a cluster issue.
If I were you I would PM CircuitBoardMedics and see what he has to say.

Oh great thanks I will. The weird part is the ECT temp that makes it all go away after 150 degrees.

How many times have you proven this? I'm not challenging you on it, but I just don't want to make any assumptions with troubleshooting it.

110% every single time! the scan gauge goes to 150 ECT and all the lights go out and the gauges come back to life. The only thing that persists is that the Tach will sometimes kind of bounce a little and at WOT it goes to O on shift points then back to the proper reading.

My scangauge won't show all codes. It's great for live data, but I've had codes in the past and the SGII showed no codes.
I think there are codes it will read. Don't know which ones they are, but I know on my truck it won't show them all.
Thats why I got AE.

I really don't want to go to Ford and pay a diagnose fee which who knows if I can trust the one by me. I've had trans fluid and a lower filter ive been wanting to put in I guess I'll just do that and change out the TFT sensor I think they are cheap. I hate throwing money and parts at a problem but in this case $15 will be worth it, specially knowing they go out eventually anyway it's not a total waste. Thanks for the replies

94L03X - PM your VIN to me so that I can look at the build data for your Excursion.

Carolina Rig - I see that you're in Greenville with us. Feel free to stop by anytime and let us load a FICM tune into your truck for a test drive if you want!
