Engine started when opening driver door w/ no keys
Hey guys, I'm new to FTE and new to diesel trucks. I bought a 2004 F350 6.0L SRW diesel a few months ago and it's been great. It's about to get bulletproofed and all that soon. Anyhow, the weirdest thing just happened. I locked my truck, but realized it didn't beep twice like it usually does so I figured a door was ajar, so I opened my driver side door and the engine started I also had the keys in my hand, soooo is this like a special thing I'm not aware of or is something electrically gone bad that I need to look into?
Haha that's practically how I felt! Spooked me a little at first
It may have one from a previous owner, but I have no idea. I was going to get one here soon, but I hadn't looked into it yet. Is there anywhere I could look to check if a previous owner had installed one and I tripped it somehow?
Wow I feel like an idiot hahaha, apparently the button on my key fob isn't an alarm.. It is in fact a remote start. Who knew?? I guess I don't need to buy it now... sweet. thanks Mike for sparking my noodle to think. I guess this thread is closed now
