remote door locks not working

remote door locks not working
I have a 2003 F350 and the key fob works correctly when the door is open(locks/unlocks) but when the doors are shut...the key fob does nothing. The button on the door sorks fine. I am going to put in a viper remote start but figured I better get this working correctly first.
Any ideas?

No, when the truck is off. Strangest thing, as long as any door is open..they work. As soon as I shut all the doors, the key fob does nothing. Even get the horn chirp..but the door has to be open.
I did turn off the autolock feature but it didn't work right before I did that so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Mine just started doing something similar today, it's an 02 F-250 4x4 Supercab 5.4L. As of today, the remote does nothing. The locks operate normally with the door switches but the remotes are dead. I changed the battery in the remote, and checked the related fuses but my remotes do not work with the doors open or closed. Any ideas?
