I have had my new truck for about two weeks. It started doing this a few days after I got it. During the door chime it does a series of 10 space invaders/ video game sounding beeps. It doesn't do it on every restart, seems to have to sit a few minutes. Will also do it when remote starting the truck. The dealer is looking into it but so far hasn't found any resoution.

That really sounds like the perimeter alarm, mine surprised me yesterday, sitting in truck with doors locked engine off and opened the door. Took a second to realize what it was, but starting the engine turned it off. No idea what would trigger it with engine on.

 

Thanks, I'll look into that... Maybe shut it off the sensors and see if it goes away. Regardless something isn't right doing that on startup.

 

Are you all opening it with a spare key with no fob present. It will sound off if you open the door using a key with no fob present. It will only give you so many second approx 20 before the alarm goes off. Could this be a warning chime?

 

No, that's with the fob. Whether I unlock it, let it unlock itself, or remote start it while inside. It's got me stumped. I think I forgot to mention the sound seems to come from the left side of dash/ instrument cluster.

 

What type of cluster do you have? This is a shot in the dark on such a new truck, but on older fords if the airbag light in the dash was inoperative (burned out) you would get a series of strange beeps from the dash on startup. I'm not sure if the more basic clusters still have an old fashion light or not?

Edit: Never mind I see you have the full screen cluster and your airbag light clearly works.

That's exactly what it's doing! I'm not sure about the that option.... will have to check. I've searched everything but siren sound... ha. Thanks for the lead. I'll tell mu tech about that.

The comments on the video indicated it was a GPS tracker, but didn't give much more information than that. Is it possible the dealer installed a GPS tracker (in case you don't make a payment), or someone in your house wanting to know your whereabouts? I'd be poking around up under the dash to see if there's any little boxes that don't look like they belong. I tried doing a web search to find if there's any GPS trackers that make that type of alarm sound, but I haven't found anything.

 

Sounds to me like they are trying to triangulate you Coupe, watch out, they are coming for you.

 

Oh crap, that's the "Eject Warning Signal"...make sure your moon roof is open.

I was reading another post about remote start. It was talking about remote start in cold temperatures and that if you try to start before the GPS (Glow Plugs) are ready it will give you a warning. Then if you get a fail to start again you have to go inside the cab to start it. Something about there is a delay on remote to allow the glow plugs to warm and this can be because your hitting the button again during the delay and triggering the GP alarm. Just another thought.
